The Broncos recently acquired Joe Flacco.

The Case Keenum experiment didn't last long in Denver as it was announced that the Broncos have traded Keenum to the Washington Redskins for a sixth-round pick in the 2020 draft, according to ESPN. This news comes in light of the Broncos acquiring quarterback Joe Flacco from the Baltimore Ravens. With Flacco on the roster, it was believed that Keenum's days in Denver were numbered and this latest deal proves that. The move was made by the Redskins as Alex Smith likely won't be able to play in 2019. If you remember, Smith went down with a gruesome leg injury during the 2018 season.

When the news first broke that Flacco was coming to Denver, Keenum commented on the situation saying that he was pretty surprised by the news.

"Elway called me that morning and we had a great conversation, which he didn't have to do, and I appreciated that," Keenum said according to ESPN. "I was definitely shocked. It was a surprise for us and ... you know, I think probably for the first day or so that's kind of what it was. You know, for us, we're definitely disappointed. It's not something we wanted to happen. I know that everybody's doing their job and John feels like that was a chance for him to help the Broncos out.''

The Broncos finished with a 6-10 record this past season, while the Redskins finished at 7-9. Both teams missed the playoffs.
