Tekashi 6ix9ine had just received some good news before heading to a meeting that turned bloody. A shooting resulting in one of his bodyguards being shot was reported on October 26. The details of the events that led to this violence have now been reported as well as the legal aftermath.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the rapper's crew tried to force its way into an NYC restaurant where the rapper was planning to meet with a record executive. His security was turned away and the crew responded with violence, threatening to shoot those who were rejecting them.
The dinner meeting was planned with record exec Elliot Grainge who was waiting for Tekashi at the restaurant with his two bodyguards, retired NYPD detective Efrain Vasquez and Maurice Fernandez. When the "STOOPID" rapper came through the spot with his 7-person crew, an altercation broke out. 6ix9ine called off the meeting and left the spot, but some members of his entourage stayed put and insisted they be allowed to enter. One of them is said to have yelled, "F*ck this, I'm getting inside!"
Fernandez texted Vasquez who was inside, informing him of the situation. Vasquez, the former detective, came outside for backup since they feared the men had guns. Then one of these men, Shottie, allegedly threatened, "I'm going to violate you both with gunshots." Another guy chimed in, "Shoot these motherf***ers! Gunfire!"
One of Tekashi's guys reportedly hit Vasquez on the head with a chair. Two witnesses claim this man was Shottie. Then Vasquez noticed another guy pulling up his shirt and reaching into his waistband. This is the moment Vasquez decided to fire 2 rounds, hitting one of Tekashi's men in the stomach.
Everyone fled the scene after the gunshots, but 2 of the 3 Tekashi associates involved in the violence were tracked down by police: Faheem "Crippie" Walter and Zachary Bunce. Shottie whose real name is Kifano Jordan has not been apprehended.
Lance Lazzaro, the criminal defense attorney who represents Tekashi, Shottie and the 2 men commented on the issue.
"It is my understanding that Tekashi was not present when the incident occurred. Shottie has no involvement with any criminal act. The two other men were victims of an assault. The charges will be completely dismissed at some point against them both."
This all went down just hours after Tekashi's sentencing. His child sex case concluded with probation.
