Well, it's finally happening.
A remake of the classic Clueless flick is now in the works as Variety reports that Paramount pictures is bridging their 1995 hit back to life in a remake, helmed by Girls Trip writer Tracey Oliver as producer
Other talent attached to the development of the script include Marquita Robinson, known for her work as a writer and story editor for Netflix's GLOW comedy series as she has been commissioned to write the script.
For those unfamiliar with the pop culture behemoth that is Clueless, the film was originally written and directed by Amy Heckerling and was loosely based on Jane Austen's 1815 novel "Emma." Set at a Beverly Hills High School, the movie documented the misadventures of Cher Horowitz, played by Alicia Silverstone. The cast was outifitted with a slew of budding stars at the time who included Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Paul Rudd, and the late Brittany Murphy
On a $12 million budget, Clueless reeled in $56 million in the United States, became an instant cult classic, spawning a three-season spin-off television series and the perpetual poularity of the phrase, "As if!"
Next month, Clueless is actually set to takeover the live stage in Clueless, The Musical with actress Dove Cameron taking the lead as Cher.
