Anthony Davis is looking at the front door, due to his team's middling status. Blame it ownership, blame it on the superteam stasis, the bandwagon fans, the low attendance, it doesn't matter much to AD. He thinks he's as good as anybody in the NBA and he has the numbers to prove it. With that at the back of his mind, there's a good chance AD will forego his player-option after the 2019-20 season, so the Pelicans may have little choice to offload their franchise talent rather than lose them for nothing. If players like Kyrie and Jimmy Butler can control their manifest destiny, surely Anthony Davis deserves to wield the same level of authority, given the fact he's a better player than both those men.
OddsShark out of Las Vegas has the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics as the favorites to land Anthony Davis should the Pelicans pursue before his contract expires. Mind you, the New Orleans Pelicans are still listed at +300 to retain his services, followed by the Golden State Warriors, who by all accounts would not be able to afford his services unless Kevin Durant departs this offseason. Rest assured, anything can happen between now and the "prescribed period."
