Minutes removed from dropping his latest music video "Dark Things," Vic Mensa announced his intentions to release an EP on December 14. The Hooligans EP will include the aforementioned "Dark Things" video single, as well as a previously released collaboration with G-Eazy titled "Reverse."
Besides the G-Eazy collab, Hooligans will feature contributions from the likes of Ty Dolla Sign, Mr Hudson, Charlie Wilson, G Herbo, and Jesse Rutherford (of the Neighbourhood). Vic Mensa shared his excitement for the project in a written statement issued to the press.
"Growing up we referred to ourselves as the Hyde Park Hooligans," Mensa wrote. "So with the EP I wanted to encapsulate energies that represented that experience as well as what’s going on in my life now, for better or for worse."
Holligans will mark Vic Mensa's first unified grouping of content since releasing The Autobiography in 2017. His musical output predating the year 2017, pegged him an artist lacking a definable quality or likeness. In light of recent criticism, Vic Mensa has used his lyrical pedigree, and his socially conscious behavior to great effect, resulting in us paying great attention to his next lateral step, be it Hooligans, or the next LP, whichever takes precedence over the other.
