Atlanta seems to encourage creative album rollouts. Last year, 2 Chainz brought the Pink Trap House into existence in honor of his excellent Pretty Girls Like Trap Music. Recently, Offset was all ready to launch "The Set Gala," which was meant to coincide with his since-delayed album. Now, 21 Savage is getting ready to launch "Motel 21," an ominous accompaniment to his upcoming album I Am > I Was.
In true 21 Savage fashion, the motel resembles something from the horror-driven landscapes of his Savage Mode universe world. The motel is seedy beyond belief, as neon signs reveal the menacing scrawl strewn across the wall. The motel is billed as an "interactive art exhibit," during which attendees can explore a variety of I Am > I Was themed rooms. To make the prospect even more enticing, Ciroc beverages will be provided accordingly.
The pieces themselves have been curated by Antwanette McLaughlin and Skye Williams. Some young attendees, 21 to be precise, will land a guided tour with the rapper himself; not only that, but said 21 fans will also receive $1k Gift Card, courtesy of Get Schooled, Juma, and 21's Leading by Example Foundation. Clearly, the rapper is here to do right by his community. The event runs from Monday through Friday, and you can check that out at 4460 Glenwood Rd, Decatur, Georgia, 30032; look for more information at 21's official website here.
