According to a new report by TMZ, Grande and Davidson did not put in place any concrete plans to marry.

News of Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's split has left fans and critics alike wondering what might have led to the seemingly sudden split. The two stars were engaged to be married after enjoying a whirlwind romance - but seemingly, neither Grande nor Davidson were truly invested in the event, and neglected planning it.

TMZ is said to have been informed by several sources that despite having gotten engaged in June, the pair spent the summer without setting time aside to plan their wedding, and did not select a date, nor a venue. Ariana reportedly did not try on any dresses and is believed to have simply spoken to her mother about the event. The TMZ report goes on to claim that the couple's procrastination was occurring before news of the untimely passing of Ariana's ex, Mac Miller, rocked their relationship leaving Ariana "emotionally paralyzed."

The report comes shortly after the "God Is A Woman" songstress was spotted engaging in a touch of retail therapy. Grande was captured treating herself to a shopping spree in chic Manhatten neighborhood, SoHo. She was photographed strolling in a stylish, white puffer jacket complemented by a pair of signature high heeled boots, large Chanel bags in tow.

Is it possible that the couple neglected to plan their wedding because of unspoken doubts about the longevity of their relationship? Or could they have understandably been occupied with their busy careers? Sound off below.
