It's been well documented over the last couple of weeks that Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans wants out of town and that it appears as though he wants to join LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers. Teams like the Boston Celtics have also entered the fray trying to acquire Davis, but the Lakers have been the team going the hardest. Reports have shown that Magic Johnson offered the Pelicans Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, Ivica Zubac, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and even some first-round draft picks, but it still wasn't enough for New Orleans to accept.
Johnson has been awaiting for a counter-offer from the Pelicans but according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pelicans haven't picked up the phone. At least not with Magic.
The trade deadline is tomorrow, February 7th at 3 P.M. EST which doesn't give either party much time to get a deal done. With the Pelicans seemingly unwilling to do business with the Lakers who have been aggressive in their pursuit of Davis, it appears as though Davis may still be in New Orleans after tomorrow.
Wojnarowski also reported that Davis has a list of teams he'd be willing to go to that includes the Lakers, the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Milwaukee Bucks.
