Lakers no longer willing to bid against themselves.

The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly "pulled out" of trade negotiations with the New Orleans Pelicans amid "outrageous" trade requests, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times' Broderick Turner.

Of course, the Lakers remain interested in Anthony Davis but they no longer want to bid against themselves, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Lakers' most recent deal reportedly included all five of their young core: Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma, Josh Hart and Iviva Zubac, as well as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and two first round draft picks.

Davis deemed the deal worthy of a double tap on instagram, but apparently it wasn't enough for the Pels.

Turner, who reported that the Lakers had grown frustrated with the Pelicans' "outrageous" trade requests, writes:

"The Lakers were not going to give the Pelicans the six to eight draft picks they wanted for Davis, the person said, knowing that the four first-round picks and second-round picks were more than the Lakers would offer."

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, New Orleans is waiting to be "overwhelmed" with a plethora of draft picks, meaning the Lakers would have to offer up 4 first-round and second-round picks as part of any Davis package. In fact, Woj reports that the Pelicans want to be "overcompensated" to even consider making a trade with LA.

As a result, it appears Magic Johnson and the Lakers will now sit back and hope for a counteroffer from New Orleans prior to Thursday's 3pm NBA trade deadline.
