Ella Mai has offically entered the Top 10 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for the second time, hitting the mark with her "Trip" single. This week, the song moved from the No. 15 position to log at No. 10 after gaining considerable traction in radio airplay while also taking into account sales and streaming data. A 9 percent boost equates to a radio audience of 26.5 million and also pushes "Trip" to No. 2 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
On the R&B/Hip-Hop Streaming Songs chart, the track moves from No. 17 to No.12 after garnering 22.6 million streams in the United States alone. It marks a 2 percent dip from last week's numbers but is still impressive enough to see the songstress surging on the boards. It also was enough to move up from 16 to 14 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs Sales chart.
"Trip" is following in the footsteps of Mai's inescapable "Boo'd Up" single which previously peaked at No. 4 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Following the arrival of Ella Mai's self-titled debut, "Trip" also peaks at No. 2 on the Hot R&B songs chart, earning the singer her third Top 10 on that chart following "Boo'd Up" and the Chris Brown-assisted "Whatchamacallit."
Elsewhere on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, you'll find 6ix9ine and the incarcerated Bobby Shmurda's "Stoopid" collaboration debuting at No. 15 after pushing the equivalent of 13,000 sales in its first week and earning 20.8 streams in the states. It marks the ninth time that Tekashi has hit the chart with a song, while monumentally marking the third track for Bobby Shmurda who earned his first two in 2014 with "Hot Boy," and "Bobby Bitch."
