Oklahoma City Thunder power forward/center Nerlens Noel was taken off the court on a stretcher Tuesday night, after trying to block a dunk attempt by the Minnesota Timberwolves' Andrew Wiggins.

As seen in the video footage embedded below, Noel took a Wiggins' forearm to the face before crashing to the floor. His head then bounced off the court, leaving him unconscious.

According to ESPN's Royce Young, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan told reporters Noel was taken to OU Medical Center, where he remained overnight.

"I just tried to make an aggressive move and dunk," Wiggins said (H/T USA Today). "He tried to contest it. I think he fell wrong. I didn't really see it until I saw him on the ground. Hopefully, he's good. I hope nothing but the best for him. I hope he gets healthy soon and comes back stronger."

The Thunder held a four-point lead at the time of Noel's terrifying third quarter injury, but went on to lose by the final of 119-117.

Noel has dealt with injuries throughout his career, including last season where he missed 30 games due to thumb surgery. The 24-year old center signed a two-year deal with the Thunder in July, and is averaging 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds a night in 39 games this season.
