Birdman came onstage during Lil Weezyana to profess his undying love for Lil Wayne and offer a public apology. Wayne graciously accepted the love and returned it in kind.
The rapper acknowledges the essential role the Cash Money exec played in his music career: "I want to show love for this man who gave me my career single-handedly."
The good wides spread wide throughout the one-day event. Lil Weezyana Fest also doubled as a 10-year anniversary celebration of Weezy's iconic album Tha Carter III. For the occasion, Nicki Minaj was brought onstage to kick it with her own tracks. Her short stint onstage featured her verses from her collaboration with Tekashi 6ix9ine,"FEFE," as well as YG's "Big Bank." A smiling Wayne sits on the stage's floor next to the monitors while the female emcee riles up the crowd.
“Who wants me to give Lil Wayne some babies?”
The show also featured performances by Torey Lanez, Jeezy, and Youngboy Never Broke Again and others. The festivities were broadcasted by TIDAL through live streaming.
It's great to see the fam back together. The positivity that currently surrounds Lil Wayne might just help speed up the release of his long-awaited studio album Tha Carter V.
