Last night at the second annual NBA Awards, Houston Rockets' All-Star guard James Harden was crowned league MVP, and Adidas was ready for the moment.

Shortly after Harden received the hardware, Adidas dropped a brand new commercial featuring footage of the young MVP, narrated by his mother, Monja Willis. In the ad, Willis discusses how Harden put in the work since he was a kid and reflects on how he once wrote her a note which included the following, "Keep this paper Imma be a star."

While speaking about his mother during his acceptance speech, Harden said:

"I'm not going to get emotional but she is my backbone, good times, bad times... Sixth Man of the Year [in 2011-12] to the MVP."

"Shout out to all the [young players]. They got a dream. There is a vision out there. Go chase that dream. ... I'll see y'all next year!"

Harden led the league in scoring last season with career-high 30.4 points per game, in addition to 8.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds. He led the Rockets to an NBA-best 65-17 record, which also marks the best regular season finish in franchise history.

"The last four years have been like knocking on the door, knocking on the door," Harden said, per ESPN after accepting the MVP Award. "Now the moment is finally here. Just every single year, you try to come back and be better than you were the year before, and just to be holding that trophy finally, it means a lot. But it doesn't stop here. We've got a long way to go. But it feels good to have it though."
