Pete Davidson & Ariana Grande are stronger than ever.

Ariana Grande and fiance Pete Davidson skipped out on the recent Emmy Awards for some "much needed time to heal and mend" after the passing of Ariana's ex-boyfriend Mac Miller. "She will be staying close to home and using this period to spend time with her loved ones and work on new music without deadline. She thanks her fans for their understanding," her team stated

Sources tell Entertainment Tonight  that Pete has been a "huge support" for his fiancee as she's dealing with the recent death of Mac and the past tragedies such as the Manchester bombing. "Mac's death has been one of the most painful things she has ever had to deal with in her life," the source explained. "She loved him very much, but she knew she couldn't help him. Mac clearly needed rehab and Ariana couldn't be his girlfriend and his sober coach."

They added: "It caused her to feel terribly depressed. While she knows it's not her fault, hearing people telling her that was more than she could handle," the source shares. "Pete has been a huge support to Ariana through a very difficult time."

The publication further notes that if Ariana's family and friends were hesitant about Pete before, then he's proved himself since they "seem to have an even stronger bond."
