"XXX we all know you won't live that long. I don't respect niggas posthumously" - Vic spits.

On Tuesday night, the 2018 BET Hip Hop Awards were aired from the Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach, Florida. Taped a couple weeks ago, there was a lot of controversy leading up to the event surrounding Vic Mensa’s cypher as reports were saying he had some choice words about the late XXXTentacion, who’s mother was in attendance. Well now that the show has just wrapped up, we now know what Vic said about X to get people all riled up.

During his cypher, Vic mentions X's abusive past, saying your favorite rapper is a "domestic abuser," before actually name dropping X and saying "he won't live that long," which BET bleeped out.

"Only time you bear arms is in a wife beater, loser/Your favorite rapper's a domestic abuser/ Name a single Vic Mensa song, XXX we all know you won't live that long. I don't respect niggas posthumously/ homicide ain't new to me, catch up Akadmiks at your eulogy" - Vic spits.

Last week, Vic made a statement about his cypher, saying it was taped a month ago and he was unaware that X’s mom would be in attendance. While he seemed genuine about his apologies to X’s mother, Vic stood by what he said in the cypher and still believes it. “Recently, I did a freestyle for the BET Award cypher addressing and condemning rappers who unabashedly abuse women and those who stand up for them and even call them legends,” Mensa said. “I stand behind those statements. It was prerecorded weeks ago and I had no idea a grieving mother would be in the audience to honor her lost son. I never intended to disrespect her and offer my deepest condolences for her loss at the hands of gun violence,” he continued. “However, I vehemently reject the trend in hip-hop of championing abusers and I will not hold my tongue about it. I don’t give a fuck about getting attention. I care about bringing awareness and holding people accountable for their actions.”
