Vic Mensa is working on his "Empathy."

When Vic Mensa dissed XXXTentacion during his BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher, people were outraged. Many of X's friends were quick to berate the Chicago rapper, especially considering the late artist's mother was in attendance at the show. It was seen as disrespectful, distasteful, and lacking in empathy. Vic seems to realize that he made a mistake, noting that he's still working on himself after people started to turn on him. As a response to the controversy that he's now a central component of, Vic has dropped a new song titled "Empathy" where he speaks on the situation and does his best to understand where people are coming from.

Of course, people will still be angry about what he said. Many agree that he crossed a line when he referenced X in his verse at the BET Awards but at least he's attempting to make things right. "Got a tendency to make a lot of enemies," says Vic to start off the song. He also touches on several other topics, including a romantic relationship he has back home.

After listening to "Empathy," have your thoughts about Vic Mensa's comments changed at all are are you still repping the "Fuck Vic Mensa" movement?

Quotable Lyrics:

Sometimes I disrespect
I was just keeping it a stack
But all of my good intentions turn into bad press
And I confess if I sit and reflect I regret
I did this and I did that
I was bogus, I was wack
