Tekashi 6ix9ine is as polarizing as an artist can get in 2018. Since making waves with his single, "GUMMO," the rapper has received both praise and hate from many people. Swizz Beatz has praised the young artist in the past and 6ix9ine's also formed a friendly relationship with 50 Cent. However, not every OG feels the same way. Yasiin Bey, the artist formerly known as Mos Def, recently watched the "GUMMO" video for the first time and he didn't seem to ecstatic about it,
Earlier this week, the A$AP Mob unleashed the third installment to their AWGE DVD series. There were a lot of gems found in there including the announcement that Tyler, The Creator and A$AP Rocky would be joining forces for a joint project under the name "Wang$ap." However, there was another interesting point in that came around the 15:03 mark. In the clip, Yasiin Bey's seen reacting to Tekashi 6ix9ine's breakthrough single, "GUMMO." Suffice to say, he wasn't impressed by it in the least.
"Why is everyone acting like this new? This is a version of the same old shit," he said before speaking on M.O.P and how they brought that aggressive energy to the game as well.
"This is the most depressing shit I've ever seen in my life." He added after watching the video.
Clearly, 6ix9ine isn't Yasiin Bey's cup of tea, but maybe he'd feel differently if he heard "FEFE."
