Lord Felix makes his full-length debut with "In Bloom, Forever."

With each new year is the promise of a fresh batch of talent looking to lace their stake in the game, setting themselves up for the months to come. In 2019, few have proven themselves to be a more formidable entry than Brockton, Massachusetts-bred emcee Lord Felix.

After slow-rolling the inception of his career, making relative noise in his region with a flip of Kaytranada’s “Weight Off” and his single “Nothing,” this week Felix has delivered on his very first full-length project In Bloom, Forever.

A prelude to his debut album Flowers, In Bloom is best described as an anthology of the most pivotal moments of Lord Felix’s existence to date and he brings along an intimate network of collaborators to help him tell the story. Extra voices on In Bloom, Forever are limited to the members of Lord Felix’s Van Buren collective, introducing listeners to the likes of Jiles, Meech, Notebook P, Clyde Black and Dreamville recording sessions invitee Luke Bar$ with some production credits belonging to Leo The Kind and Ricky Felix, another alum of the ROTD3 gathering.

A precise debut for an artist who promises to be around for a while, In Bloom, Forever is the coming-of-age tale that would make John Hughes proud, bleeding within genres and traveling effortlessly between the highs and lows, love and loss, adulthood and childlike naiveté.
