Boyle leaves Bond hanging.

Somehow, the still untitled Bond 25 just lost their director. James Bond's official Twitter page announced the departure of Danny Boyle on Tuesday (Aug. 21). "Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli and Daniel Craig today announced that due to creative differences Danny Boyle has decided to no longer direct Bond 25," reads the tweet.

What's really surprising here, is that Craig himself has come out to suggest he no longer wants to play Bond. It's interesting to see that the director has walked away before Craig, hinting that there are some real issues going on behind the scene. Boyle was working on the script for the next Bond film alongside Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, who scripted Casino RoyaleQuantum of SolaceSkyfall, and Spectre (the entire Craig series of Bond films). Skyfall was a massive success, becoming the highest grossing Bond film ever. Spectre was a bit of a disappointment though. Bond 25 is still scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2019.

Daniel Craig infamously sat down with Time Out London in 2015, and had this to say about making another Bond film: "Now? I’d rather break this glass and slash my wrists. No, not at the moment. Not at all. That’s fine. I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on." Maybe they should just scrap everything and make the Idris Elba relaunch we've all been asking for.
