First Lady Melania Trump paid a visit to the US-Mexico border on Thursday to tour the "tender age homes" that shelter children who have been separated from their parents whilst trying to cross countries.
However, as Trump boarded her private jet, she was seen wearing a jacket that came with the phrase "I Really Don't Care. Do U?" emblazoned on the back in bold white typeface; she was not wearing the article of clothing when she landed in McAllen, Texas. Once images of her departure became public, celebrities and other media personalities caught wind of the troubling message Trump was displaying, especially after having visited a bevy of children who have been forcibly removed from their parents and locked up in a high-security, prison-like environment.
Former late night host Chelsea Handler criticized Trump's hypocrisy in a scathing tweet.
Stephen Colbert addressed the controversy on his show, proclaiming that the general public does indeed care about the state of America amid the "worst moral scandal in recent memory."

Donald Trump also took to Twitter to address the controversy. Whilst Melania's representatives reveal there is no hidden message behind the jacket, the POTUS offered his own interpretation that echoes his own sentiments about the media, and "fake news."
