Smokepurpp has given an update on his second proper solo project DEADSTAR 2. As announced in his Instagram Lice stream, the project is set for a September release, or as he put it "DEADSTAR 2 in September, bitch! You heard it hear first!" A specific date has yet to be announced. He later previewed what appears to be some new music from the project.
In addition to DS2, as he's been calling it, despite the confusion with Future's 2015 album, Smokepurpp is also working on a joint project with Cardo called PURPPGOTWINGS. It will continue in the tradition of other projects produced by Cardo such as Neffy Got Wings with Nef The Pharaoh, Che Got Wings with Che Ecru.
Smokepurpp released DEADSTAR, his debut project, last September, which makes the September release of DEADSTAR 2 something of an anniversary. Earlier this year, he teamed up with Murda Beatz for Bless Yo Trap. He has another collaborative project with his close friend Lil Pump planned, but it will reportedly only come after Pump shares his solo project Harverd Dropout.
In July, Purpp and Pump teamed up for the collaborative single "Nephew," which they launched with its very own dance challenge.
