Drake just rode the "In My Feelings" challenge all the way to No. 1 on the Hot 100, can Lil Pump and Smokepurpp do the same? The two South Florida rappers have asked fans to participate in the "Nephew" challenge, with Pump demonstrating how it's done in an Instagram post. From the looks of it, it's the "Macarena" performed by someone who can't quite remember how to do the "Macarena," which is actually the perfect way to move to a Pump and Purpp track.
While it seems like the post was initially done as a joke, fans have actually come through with their takes on the challenge, as reposted on Smokepurpp's account.
Lil Pump is expected to release his sophomore project Harvard Dropout in the near future. He's previously earned a Hot 100 top ten hit with "Gucci Gang," and he could very likely do it again. Will this freeform macarena challenge be what takes him there? Who knows, stranger things have certainly happened.
Meanwhile, Smokepurpp recently announced that he would be changing his name to simply "Purpp." No word on when that change will actually take effect.
Purpp and Pump released the official video for the song earlier this week. You can watch it here.
