Ever since Kawhi Leonard's public falling out with the San Antonio Spurs, where the former Finals MVP demanded a trade away from the team, fans have been anticipating his return to the city. On Thursday night, Leonard and his new team, the Toronto Raptors went into San Antonio and got smoked 125-107. Making the loss even worse though were boos and taunts thrown Leonard's way.
As seen in the tweet above, the San Antonio crowd did not welcome Kawhi back with open arms, despite the player bringing the city a championship in 2014. At one point in the game, Leonard went to take a couple of free throws and was met by "traitor" chants from the crowd.
If it couldn't get worse for Leonard and the Raptors already, DeMar DeRozan, the player the Spurs traded Leonard for, recorded his first career triple-double, notching 21 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, according to ESPN.
It isn't all bad for the Raptors though. They still sit at a record of 28-12 which gives them the most wins in the entire NBA. They'll be looking to bounce back when they play the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday. The Bucks are 26-10 and are neck and neck with the Raptors in the Eastern Conference.
