Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. was quick to challenge Creed II star Michael B. Jordan to a boxing match if he really wanted all the smoke, but it doesn't look like that'll be the case.
In case you missed it, the 31-year old actor was asked last month if there were any boxers he thought he could take in the ring, and he immediately named Jones Jr. TMZ Sports recently caught up with the 49-year old fighter, who told them he spoke with Michael B. Jordan and it doesn't seem like a fight will be going down after all.
"We just talked about it. We laughed about it. It's a fun thing," says Jones Jr., as seen in the video embedded below.
After learning of Jordan's comments last month, Jones Jr. said he'd be willing to make a fight happen, telling TMZ, "I never ducked a fight in my life."
"First thing is, you know I never ducked a fight in my life, I don't duck nothing," Roy Jones Jr. told TMZ. "If Michael B. wants this real, contact Roy Jones Jr. and we will make it happen," he added, stressing that Jordan knows where to find him if he's for real about the whole thing. "I know he can't beat me still. I know he's probably in better condition because he's younger.... But I'm an old school vet."
When asked how much time he'd realistically need to train for a fight against Jordan, Jones Jr. says, "[I'd] probably need, for him, about four or five weeks."
In 75 career fights, Jones Jr boasts a 66-9 record, including 47 KOs. He most recently fought in February of this year, when he defeated Scott Sigmon via unanimous decision.
