Rumors are swirling that Jordy Nelson will announce his retirement today.

The Oakland Raiders suffered a 20-6 loss at home to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, marking the team's eighth defeat of the season as they've now dropped to an NFL-worst 1-8. More significant, the game may have been the last of veteran wide receiver Jordy Nelson's career.

Nelson exited the game in the second quarter with a quad injury but gutted it out for the second half - although, he finished with zero catches on the day. In nine games with the Raiders, the 33-year old receiver has just 25 receptions for 353 yards and three touchdowns.

Prior to signing with the Raiders this past off-season, Nelson spent nine seasons with the Green Bay Packers where he established himself as one of Aaron Rodgers' favorite targets in recent years.

During his time in Green Bay, Nelson caught 550 passes for 7,848 yards and 69 touchdowns, including a Pro Bowl year in 2014, in which he had a career-best 1,519 receiving yards to go along with 13 TDs. From 2011 to 2016, Nelson recorded four seasons with 1,200+ receiving yards and three with double-digit touchdowns, including a career-high 15 TD grabs in 2011.

Several NFL reporters have speculated that Nelson will be announcing his retirement today.
