Nelson will reportedly sign with the Raiders today.

Free agent wide receiver Jordy Nelson will reportedly agree to a deal with the Oakland Raiders today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network insider Ian Rapaport.

Nelson's first move after being release by the Green Bay Packers earlier this week was to visit with the Raiders and he is still in Oakland as the two parties hope to finalize a deal today, according to Schefter. With Nelson set to don the silver and black next season, Ian Rapaport reports that Oakland is likely to release veteran wide receiver Michael Crabtree, who has a $7.7M cap hit.

The Packers cut Nelson, who has been with the team since he entered the league in 2008 shortly after the team agreed to a deal with free agent tight end Jimmy Graham. According to ESPN, the move gave Green Bay more than $10.2 million in cap space.

The 32-year old wide receiver finished with just 53 catches for 482 yards and six touchdowns last year, but that's due in large part to the fact that Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone in Week 6 and missed most of the season thereafter. In four of the five previous seasons, Nelson had at least 1,250 receiving yards, including a Pro Bowl year in 2014 when he caught 98 passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Raiders finished 6-10 last season, just one year after going 12-4. They fired coach Jack Del Rio this offseason and brought in Jon Gruden who will look to get Oakland back in the playoffs before the team relocates to Las Vegas.
