Ronda Rousey captured her first Raw Women's championship last night at SummerSlam, beating Alexa Bliss with ease in front of a sold out crowd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Among those in attendance were Rousey's good friend and daughter of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Natalya, as well as Brie and Nikki Bella, who hadn't been on WWE television since January's Royal Rumble PPV. After the conclusion of the match, all three women joined Rousey in the ring to celebrate her momentous occasion - and it looks like one of them will be challenging "The Baddest Woman on the Planet" in the near future.
According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, the WWE is now planning to have Rousey take on Nikki Bella in the main event of the upcoming women's only Evolution PPV. Both women are among the company's biggest mainstream superstars and it would be a great way to build hype round the event, which will also include WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus' return to the ring in a match against Alexa Bliss.
Evolution, taking place on October 28, will feature the women of Monday Night Raw, SmackDown Live, NXT and the newly formed NXT: U.K. brands, as well as some Hall of Famers. The historic event will be held at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. On the WWE's pay-per-view calendar, Evolution will fall in between the WWE's upcoming "Super Show-Down" in Melbourne, Australia, and Survivor Series. The next PPV on the WWE calendar is Hell In A Cell, which will take place in San Antonio on September 16.
