Memphis Grizzlies teammates Garrett Temple and Omri Casspi were reportedly involved in a physical altercation last night following the team's 101-94 home loss to the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the incident took place during a postgame meeting in the locker room.
The lengthy, closed door meeting ultimately resulted in a scuffle between Temple and Casspi, which sources tell ESPN was "heat of the moment stuff." Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff addressed the media after exiting the meeting, telling reporters, "A conversation that needed to be had that will stay between those of us that were in that locker room."
Of course, not everything that happened in the locker room stayed in the locker room because word of the physical altercation quickly spread as soon as the players emerged.
Last night's loss marked the Grizzlies' 10th defeat in their last 13 games as they have now dropped to 18-19 on the season. Up next for Memphis is a home game against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night, followed by a pair of road games in San Antonio and New Orleans.
