Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young hasn't played like a rookie this season, but that doesn't mean he's exempt from a little rookie hazing.
As documented on social media by veteran point guard Jeremy Lin, Young left the practice facility today (with his pink Dora The Explorer backpack slung over his shoulder) only to find that his $138,000 custom Audi R8 had been stuffed with popcorn. We're talking window to window, floor to headrest, in the cupholders and car door panel, on the dash and in the backseat.
Fellow rookie Omari Spellman was also a victim of the popcorn prank, though Lin's footage mainly focused on the sleek R8, which Young had showed off back in July after being selected fifth overall in the NBA Draft. Through 11 games this season, the 19-year old point guard ranks second among rookies with 18.6 points per game and he leads all rooks with 8.1 assists per game.
This isn't the first time that an NBA rookie has walked out to the parking lot and discovered a kernel-covered leather interior, and it surely won't be the last, but it's always worth watching.
