Stephen Curry got a taste of his own medicine last night when Chris Paul got hot in the third quarter and drained several threes, including a contested three-pointer over the 2x NBA MVP. It was after that shot, which gave Houston a 59-57 lead midway through the third, that CP3 broke out Curry's signature shimmy shake right in his grill.
If you'll recall, Curry was shimmying all over Oracle Arena in Game 3 during the Warriors' 41-point victory. After Houston's 98-94 Game 5 win last night, Curry was asked about Chris Paul's shimmy.
"It was well-deserved. It was a tough shot," Curry said of Paul, per ESPN. "If you can shimmy on somebody else, you've got to be all right getting shimmied on. So I'll keep shimmying, and maybe he will too."
Whether Paul will continue to shimmy in Game 6 on Saturday night remains to be seen. The 13-year veteran suffered a hamstring injury during the final minute of Game 5 which forced him out of the game. He will be re-evaluated after he gets an MRI today, before his status for Game 6 is determined, according to ESPN. Reports state that CP3's hamstring was still "really sore" late Thursday night.
Paul finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals, in addition to the glorious shimmy that won't soon be forgotten - especially if Houston dethrones the Warriors.
