A few weeks back, Jordan Brand paid tribute to Carmelo Anthony's "Most Outstanding Player" award from the 2003 NCAA championship with a special edition Air Jordan 9. Today, Nike has officially unveiled the return of the Air Jordan 2 "Melo," which celebrates Carmelo's time with the Denver Nuggets - the team that drafted him fourth overall after his freshman season at Syracuse.
This iteration of the Air Jordan 2 features a white leather construction, accompanied by Varsity Maize and University Blue accents, as well as Melo branding on the insoles and inner tongue. The kicks, which Carmelo laced up during his rookie season, originally released in 2004 but have not returned to retailers since.
According to Nike, the shoes will be available at select Jordan Brand stores and online starting June 9th for the retail price of $190.
