Morgan Freeman is one of the most respected Hollywood actor's working in contemporary cinema, with a career spanning five decades. After receiving widespread recognition for his work in The Shawshank Redemption and Driving Miss Daisy, the movie-industry vet eventually nabbed an Academy Award for his performance in Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby. Since then, Freeman has proved his impenetrable presence as a respected and bankable movie star.
However, the actor's on-set behaviour has ignited a flurry of sexual assault and inappropriate conduct accusations by a bevy of women. A young production assistant who worked with Freeman on Going in Style exclusively revealed to CNN how he allegedly subjected her to unwarranted touching and comments aimed squarely at her physique throughout the duration of filming. The unidentified woman notes how he "kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear." While he never successfully discovered whether or not she was wearing any panties, Alan Arkin, who co-starred in the film alongside Freeman, told him to stop harassing her.
Freeman's troubling on-set behaviour was not limited to one cinematic production. Another woman who worked as a senior member of the production staff for the film Now You See Me recounts a similar experience. "He did comment on our bodies... We knew that if he was coming by ... not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted," she admits.
Sixteen people have come forward with information directly related to this investigation. Eight individuals have reported instances of sexual harassment, while others have witnessed the Freeman's alleged behaviour.
