At the top of the month, H.E.R. dropped off her latest EP titled I Used To Know Her: The Prelude. The six-track tape came with just two features from SJ Scratch and Bryson Tiller and according to Billboard, the project is doing wonders on the charts. The album has debuted at No. 1 on the Top R&B Albums chart, moving 18,000 units in the week ending August 9th.
This marks Gabi Wilson's fifth entry on the chart with all her previous EP's and albums peaked in previous years. This newer tape has expanded her territory, giving her new accomplishments since debuting at No. 12 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and No. 20 on the Billboard 200.
The 21-year-old singer started her career by only showing her silhouette and never her face. Eventually, we now know what Gabi looks like, but it was only until recently. "Concealing my identity came from me really trying to find ways to be super-honest in my music and to find a way for people to hear the music for what it is and not have any judgement or make any assumptions or think I can't relate to this because she's only this age or she looks like this so I don't know what that feels like," Gabi said. "Sometimes we do that."
