J. Cole is ready to take KOD on the road, and by the looks of his recent show in Lagos, Nigeria, so are the fans. The rapper shared a clip from his appearance in Lagos, which shows him performing his new song "Photograph" to a crowd that seems to know every word and is actually overpowering the rapper himself. Cole was taken aback by the fact that fans were this familiar with his material within a week of release. "Nigeria. Smhhhh. 7days later it don't make sense..." he wrote, adding, "can't wait to hit the road."
This isn't the first time a Lagos crowd has brought incredible energy to a performance from a North American rap performance. In 2017, Migos performed "Bad and Boujee" to an audience in the city and received the same love as they watched fans recite the track word for word, stepping back from their mics.
As he stated in his post, KOD is just 7 days old, and its expected to top the Billboard charts this Sunday. On top of that, it's been reported that the album is on pace to have the biggest streaming week for a project in 2018 thus far, meaning it would surpass Migos' massive 24-track project Culture II.
Though Cole has not announced any North American tour dates in support of the project yet. Looking at the Lagos footage, his U.S. fans certainly have a lot to live up to when he does.
