Jidenna may not have supported XXXTentacion but he will not stand for anybody celebrating his passing.

Yesterday was plagued with horrible news. First, the news of XXXTentacion's murder ruined our days and then Jimmy Wopo also passed away, effectively tarnishing the entire week. With so many members of the hip-hop community opening up their arms to the friends and families of both X and Wopo, we are left with their eternal creative offerings to the world. In terms of XXX, we will always be able to listen to his stellar music to build on his legacy. XXX's executive producer, John Cunningham, told us about the artist's ability to sway between genres, which was quite evident when listening to any of his songs. Although Jidenna may not have been a supporter of X due to his controversial history, he is not putting up with the celebrations that some people believe are warranted after his passing, speaking out on social media.

At the end of the day, XXXTentacion was 20-years-old when he passed away, something that Jidenna focuses heavily on when writing about the late Floridian. "No one can be so self-righteous that they are happy when a youth dies. The young still have the capability to reform," started the singer, referencing how the troubled rapper was trying to change his ways. While he is adamant that the domestic violence in X's history is "horrific," he put forth a notable statement, saying, "For those who are so woke that their compassion is asleep, remember this...if Malcolm X was killed at the age of 20, he would have died an abuser, a thief, an addict, and a narrow-minded depressed & violent criminal. So, I believe in change for the young."

While it is beautiful to see so many people tributing XXX and his legacy, it's depressing to think that we will never be able to witness him perform again. RIP XXXTentacion.
