Drax wants out.

Dave Bautista plans on defecting from Marvel and joining DC. His motives are clear, Bautista will follow director James Gunn wherever he goes. Gunn was fired from Disney after writing and directing the highly successful Guardians of the Galaxy films. Gunn's termination was based on tweets he sent out nearly a decade ago, where he satirically joked about rape, homosexuality, and a number of other topics that didn't align with Disney's morals. Bautista was the most vocal out of the Guardians cast when it came to supporting Gunn, and the esteemed director was recently hired by DC and Warner Bros. He is set to begin writing the script for a Suicide Squad sequel.

Bautista took to Twitter to back Gunn's new hiring, and also throw his hat in the ring for casting. "Where do I sign up," wrote the Drax actor as the caption to an article reporting on Gunn's Suicide Squad duties. David Ayer, the man who directed the first Suicide Squad, was criticized heavily for his approach to The Joker among other things. Still, he took to Twitter to voice support for James Gunn as well. "I think it’s an incredibly brave and smart move by the studio. James is the right man for the job!" he wrote. Ayer is currently piecing together Margot Robbie’s Gotham City Sirens.
