Variety has reported that Hollywood badass Liam Neeson is in talks to join Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson in Sony’s Men In Black reboot.
F. Gary Gray, who helmed Straight Outta Compton and Fate of the Furious is set to direct the film, and screenwriters Matt Holloway and Art Marcum are on-board for the script. The original MIB producers Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald, are back this time around, and yep, as you may have guessed, Steven Spielberg is returning as executive producer. The release date for the film is June 14, 2019.
The storyline and specific roles of Hemsworth and Thompson’s characters are being kept under wraps, but sorry folks, they won’t be playing the same alien-slaying heroes portrayed by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in the initial film trilogy (come to think of it, it would be savage if that were the case). The new movie is set in the same onscreen world. Though we have yet to get all the details, it has been confirmed that Neeson will play the head of the Men in Black organization in London, where the story begins. In the original films, actor Rip Torn played the head honcho of the American division.
We’re going to assume both Will and Tommy will make cameos – how 'bout that?
