Tom Cruise is enjoying the success of his sixth Mission: Impossible film right now. Somehow, the series gets more popular as it gets older, with Fallout grossing more in first week sales than any of the previous films. While Cruise has found himself tangled up in some less than favorable films as of late (The Mummy, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back), Mission Impossible – Fallout reminded us that he is actually one of the best action stars in the game. Apparently, Warner Bros. feels the same way.

According to ComicBookCruise was in talks to play Green Lantern in the DCU. Rumors that Cruise was interested in the role have been circulating the internet for quite some time at this point, and it's possible that Warner just sat down with him based on fan consideration. Entitled Green Lantern Corps, the DCU film will feature more than one Green Lantern. Fans have already speculated that both Hal Jordan and John Stewart would make an appearance, with the former being a mentor to the latter. Director and writer Christopher McQuarrie may also be involved with the project, which further fuels the Tom Cruise casting speculation. Cruise and McQuarrie have worked together on several films, including Jack Reacher, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, and Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
