As the NBA's official uniform manufacturer for the foreseeable future, Nike's partnership with the league will extend beyond the court to include collaborative projects with the Nike skateboarding line, more commonly known as Nike SB.
“Growing up in Southern California in the ’80s was what got me into basketball,” Nike SB skateboarder Eric Koston said in a statement. “I was getting deep into skateboarding in high school, but having the Showtime Lakers as my home team was so exciting to watch. They were at the peak of their championship wins, they had their rivalry with the Celtics — it was compelling, competitive, flashy basketball.”
The upcoming NBA x Nike SB collection will feature three different iconic sneakers silhouettes - the Blazer Low, Bruin and Dunk Low - as well as co-branded satin jackets and hoodies.
The collection will reportedly kickoff on October 13 with the release of an all-white Blazer Low ($80), a monochromatic "bubblegum" Nike SB Bruin ($85), and a royal blue satin SB Dunk Low ($100) dressed in a royal blue satin.
