WWE superstars will be returning to Saudi Arabia next month for another WWE Network exclusive event dubbed "Crown Jewel," which will feature a number of high profile matches, including an 8-man "World Cup Tournament."
According to WWE, the one-night World Cup Tournament will feature four of the top Superstars from Raw and four from SmackDown Live battling it out to determine the best in the world. Two of the Raw competitors were revealed on Monday.
Here's what happened on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw:
Acting Raw General Manager Baron Corbin designed an impromptu Global Battle Royal, made of unique (although completely unknown talent) from all over the world, setting himself up to represent the United States. However, his scheme didn’t go according to plan, as a mysterious masked Conquistador stole the victory from The Lone Wolf before revealing himself to be none other than WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, who was back from his “vacation.”
It has also been announced that 16-time world champion John Cena will be competing as one of the four members of Raw.
Tonight's edition of SmackDown Live will include two qualifying matches for the eight-man World Cup Tournament, as The Big Show returns to take on Randy Orton and Samoa Joe goes up against Jeff Hardy.
The Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, taking place on November 2, will also feature Triple H and Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker and Kane, WWE champ AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan, and a triple threat for the WWE Universal Championship between Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar.
