Johnny Manziel ran into a brick wall on Saturday.

Manziel was beginning to turn the corner after a disastrous start to his comeback journey. After posting four interceptions in his first CFL start with the Montreal Alouettes, fared a bit better in his 2nd start against the Ottawa Redblacks completing 16 of 26 passes for 168 yards, and running the ball for a net gain on several occasions. Unfortunately his penchant for running the ball out of coverage has proven costly. While scrambling at the Redblacks' goal line for a touchdown, Manziel ran into an outside linebacker with other plans.

The stiff shoulder check connected with Manziel's neck sending him to the turf, where he spent a few woozy moments on grounding regaining his focus. He then lept to his feet and jogged it off, only to hear about it later from team officials. The word in Montreal is that Manziel is experiences symptoms that could be associated with a mental condition he is prescribed medication for.

The quarterback will be observed by team therapists until his symptoms dissipate. The CFL has ordered he be placed under Concussion Protocol until they received authorization from doctors clearing him to practice. It's not certain whether Manziel will be ready to suit up by Saturday, when the Montreal Alouettes face off against the Edmonton Eskimos in a prime time slot.
