On the eve of the NFL Draft, reigning Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield took to social media to share his perfect recreation of Brett Favre's iconic Draft Day photo from 1991.
In the original photo, Favre was surrounded by family and friends as he casually took a phone call from the Atlanta Falcons, who had just picked in him the second round. Mayfield's recreation is a nearly identical replica, right down to the old school portable telephone, wood paneling, and jean shorts.
According to ESPN, the Mayfields were big fans of Favre and the Green Bay Packers while growing up in Texas, so his mother bought wallpaper that looked like the wood paneling shown in Favre's Mississippi bedroom and decorated it with photos of young Baker for the shoot. It took roughly three hours to assemble the "set" for the Draft Day recreation, according to a family member that spoke with ESPN's Jake Trotter.
Favre even responded to Mayfield's photo, asking the future first round pick to return his jorts after tonight's NFL Draft.
Last season with the Oklahoma Sooners, Mayfield completed 70.5% of his passes for 4,627 yards, 43 touchdowns and just six interceptions. He is expected to be a top pick in tonight's draft and there are rumors that the Cleveland Browns will select him with the first overall pick.
According to NBC Sports' Newy Scruggs, Mayfield will not be attending tonight's draft (coverage starts at 8pm ET), which is being held in AT&T Stadium, the home of the Dallas Cowboys.
