Despite his many controversial statements made earlier this year, Kanye West continues to find success as a musician. After Friday's release of Nasir, the fourth of five planned projects shared in as many weeks, Kanye is now the producer of the top three albums on Apple Music. Kanye's ye solo project and his Kids See Ghosts collaboration with Kid Cudi occupy the No. 1 and 2 slots respectively, while Nas' new album holds No. 3. The chart placements were confirmed by both Kanye himself and Def Jam EVP of Brand Strategy & Content Noah Callahan-Bever on Twitter.
Last week, Kanye's ye topped the Billboard 200. The 7 tracks on the project were, for a time, the most streamed songs on both Apple Music and Spotify. Prior to that, the Kanye-produced Daytona, an album by Pusha T and the first in this Wyoming-recorded series, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Seeing that each of the albums is 7 tracks in length, they are put at a disadvantage against albums with longer tracklists when it comes to streaming. Next week, Teyana Taylor's Keep That Same Energy will complete the 5-album streak, though Kanye has hinted that other projects will follow, possibly from Cyhi The Prynce and Ty Dolla Sign. Stay tuned.
