After her recent stint on FOX's "American Idol", Nicki Minaj has made her presense known in both the music scene and on the small screen. And with the upcoming release of the Cameron Diaz-led film, "The Other Woman", Minaj will soon tackle the film industry thanks to her role as legal assistant in the Nick Cassavetes-directed movie.
While speaking with Marie Claire, a magazine in which Nicki will serve as the August cover artist, the Queens rapper shared her nervousness about her first big acting gig with fans as she answered their Twitter questions during her interview. She stated,
"I was like, 'Why does this guy believe in me?' He goes, 'I've been watching you on Idol, and you're great.' Made me seem more relatable to the everyday person. It's cracked that shell for my image,” said Minaj. “I've become something bigger than Nicki Minaj…I would be lying if I said I was not nervous. I can't blow this."
Nicki later got around to her music and revealed that her music career could possibly be fully replaced with an acting career after a few more albums. In the magazine feature, Nicki added:
"I at least want to do three more albums. If I can do that, I'll feel complete," she explained. "One day, when I start getting a couple gray hairs, maybe it will all be only acting. I just never know. I've kind of become the poster child for doing the things that no one expects."
The August issue of Maria Claire, which features Nicki's full interview, will hit newsstands on July 16th. The cover can be seen in the gallery above.
