Nicki Minaj has joined the growing list of performers at the 2018 MTV VMAs. According to MTV, Minaj will provide a "special remote performance" from "a secret, iconic location in New York." Of course, that's all the information we have so far, but fans are already speculating that the Statue Of Liberty could be involved, given the crown and Nicki's Queen album concept. There's also the possibility of the performance taking place in Nicki's home borough of Queens, which would also play into the title.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Post Malone and Travis Scott would perform at the awards show. Prior to that, Logic and Ariana Grande were confirmed to perform.
Jennifer Lopez will be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the event and will share a special performance.
Nicki is nominated for Best Hip-Hop Video for "Chun-Li." Her fourth album Queen will arrive 3 days prior to the show, so it's anyone's guess which song she will pull out for the occasion.
Minaj performed at both the 2016 and 2017 VMAs, joining Ariana Grande for "Side To Side" and Katy Perry for "Swish Swish" respectively. She has performed a total of five times on the main stage, including her own songs "Anaconda" in 2014 and "Trini Dem Girls" in 2015.
