The defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons tonight as Week 1 of the 2018-19 NFL season officially gets underway.
The rematch of last year's NFC Divisional round is slated to kickoff at 8:20pm ET and you can catch the action on NBC or streaming via NBCSports.com (with subscription) or thru FuboTV. Prior to kickoff, the Eagles will raise their Super Bowl LII banner into the rafters.
"Quite honestly, it's going to be a great night from that standpoint," Pederson said, according to NBC Philadelphia. "The fans that are in attendance are going to be crazy and they're going to be excited. It's going to be great for the banner to be dropped in Lincoln Financial [Field]. It's going to be a great atmosphere."
According to Vegas Insider, the Eagles are 1.5-point favorites tonight and the point total over/under has been set at 45. Philadelphia is among the favorites to win the Super Bowl this year with odds of 14/1, slightly ahead of Atlanta, listed at 18/1.
As mentioned, the Falcons and Eagles last squared off in January during the divisional round of the playoffs, which saw the Eagles secure a 15-10 victory at Lincoln Financial Field en route to their first ever Super Bowl title. Nick Foles will be under center once again tonight for the Eagles as franchise QB Carson Wentz continues to recover from a torn ACL that he suffered last December. According to Eagles head coach Doug Pederson, Wentz is "in a great spot" and "close" to returning to the field but it's still unclear when he'll be back in the lineup. Philadelphia will travel to Tampa Bay in Week 2 before returning home to take on the Indianapolis Colts in Week 3.
