Sitting down with Howard Stern during a recent interview, Alec Baldwin revealed that he would "one-thousand percent" defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election if he decided to place himself in the running.
"If I ran, I would win. I would absolutely win," Baldwin admits rather confidently.
The actor also notes how his presidential campaign would be "the funniest, most exciting, most crazy campaign," which makes the prospect of him engaging in a political tête-à-tête with the current POTUS all the more exciting.
Baldwin has been universally lauded for his hilarious portrayal of Trump during a series of sketches on Saturday Night Live, which began shortly after the 2016 election in November. For his impersonation, the Mission: Impossible - Fallout star received the Primetime Emmy award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
However, Trump has routinely denounced Baldwin's appearances on the longstanding comedy sketch show. "Alec Baldwin, whose dying mediocre career was saved by his terrible impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing me was agony. Alec, it was agony for those who were forced to watch. Bring back Darrell Hammond, funnier and a far greater talent!" Trump tweeted back in March.
