Gal Gadot has signed on to star alongside Dwayne Johnson in the upcoming film Red Notice. Johnson, who cranks out movies regularly, will be reuniting with director Rawson Marshall Thurber, who is helming the film. Johnson and Thurber also collaborated on Central Intelligence and Skyscraper, the latter will be released this Summer. Gadot will be taking her first leading role outside of the DC Extended Universe since entering it in 2016's Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
According to Deadline, Red Notice is an international action thriller, and Johnson will play an Interpol agent assigned to track down an art thief. Gadot will play a brilliant and mysterious figure in the art world. That sounds to us like she may be the main villain, but that's just speculation. It would be interesting to see the actress take on a villain after spending the last few years playing the hero. Back in March, Johnson announced the film as the only actor attached. Now that Gadot is on as well, filmmakers are looking for one more male lead to complete a trifecta. Red Notice is set to begin filming in April 2019 in Europe, and Universal will deliver the film worldwide on June 12, 2020.
