We are lucky to be living in an age where it is so easy to discover new music. At only 21-years-old, Jorja Smith already has one of the most powerful voices in the industry, recently releasing her debut album Lost & Found. Featured twice on Drake's More Life project, the U.K. artist's career was catapulted through her connection to the most popular rapper in the world. As time passed, her fans began to recognize her as a singular talent and, with her Lost & Found effort, that talent is on full display. Continuing to impress the world, Jorja performed as part of NPR's Tiny Desk Concert series, wowing everybody with her raw vocal prowess.
Working with an acoustic band, Jorja stayed in line with what is normally expected on the Tiny Desk series, performing three songs in NPR's intimate setting. One of the best things about the regular series is how close you feel to each artist performing and, because of the library setting, the performances are much more personal than in an arena. Singing live versions of "Blue Lights," "Teenage Fantasy," and "On My Mind." The singer flexed her range, proving why she's one of the most sought-after R&B vocalists out today.
The setting is perfect for an artist like Jorja Smith and she seems to be comfortable belting out her heart on a smaller stage. Check out the full performance below and prepare for your jaw to drop.
