Beyonce and Jay-Z are just as close in their personal life as they are in their business life, so it seems. Shortly after Hov announced a new publishing deal between Roc Nation and Warner/Chappell, Beyonce has now followed suit.
Queen Bey has also signed a global publishing deal with the label, which will administer all her publishing and songwriting, effective immediately-- thus including her upcoming album.
In an announcement on the new venture, Beyonce commented on being reunited with Jon Platt, who is now the President Creative of Warner/Chappell Music, but whom she once worked with when he was over at EMI. "It’s an honor to join Warner/Chappell Music and to continue working with my friend Jon Platt. I trust his vision and admire his professionalism, and I look forward to our partnership," she said.
Platt echoed Beyonce's excitement. "I am always inspired by her drive, her creative vision and the breadth of her talents as a songwriter, performer and artist," Platt said in statement. "Everyone at Warner/Chappell is honored to have the opportunity to serve this ground-breaking superstar as she continues to evolve, growing her incredible catalog of songs and producing some truly extraordinary new music."
Apart from this parallel in Bey and Hov's career, each artist also has an upcoming tour. Bey's heading on the road for "The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour" and Hov will be joined by Justin Timberlake on the "Legends of the Summer" tour.
